As we get older we age to head to toe, but for most patients, the signs of ageing are initially most apparent on the face. Although cosmetic surgery procedures such as facelifts and eye bag removal can offer long-term solutions to ageing concerns like sagging skin, many people just aren’t ready to pursue an invasive avenue. If you are showing minor signs of ageing on your face but are not yet ready for surgery, Mr Jag Chana offers a wide range of non-surgical facial rejuvenation treatments to improve your skin that might be best suited to you first.

Non-invasive and ideal for reducing the look of lines and wrinkles, improving lost facial volume, and improving skin tone and texture, these non-surgical facial rejuvenation treatments can help to reduce the typical signs of ageing we’d rather hold at bay.

The top 3 non-surgical facial rejuvenation treatments to improve your skin offered by Mr Jag Chana include muscle relaxing injections, dermal fillers, and chemical skin peels. Find out here which treatment (or combination of treatments) could have you looking and feeling rejuvenated in as little as one session – and remember to book a consultation to make sure you’re a candidate for these non-surgical facial rejuvenation treatments.

Dermal Fillers

If muscle relaxing injections (see below) are not completely effective in reducing the signs of ageing and eliminating lines in the frown area then fillers can be used enhance the effects. Dermal fillers are injectables and are used to combat the signs of ageing by targeting the deeper lines and wrinkles on the face.

Usually, the lips and lines around the mouth are the most commonly treated areas. Fillers can be used to fill out the deep depression under the eyelid (tear-trough) and also used to fill hollowness on the cheek.

A numbing cream can be used to ease any mild discomfort and the injection is administered with a very fine needle into multiple sites according to the area being treated. The effects of dermal fillers last up to six months to a year before a repeat treatment is required.

Muscle Relaxing Injections

Muscle relaxing injections contain the botulinum toxin and are used to freeze the muscles of the face, therefore, preventing wrinkles or lines from forming. The most popular of all muscle relaxing injections are known widely as ‘BOTOX’ and it is mainly used on the brow, between the brow and around the eyes.

The process of administrating these injections is generally painless, quick and effective – with results lasting up three to five months before you having to return to the clinic for another treatment if you wish. A local anaesthetic cream can be applied to the area first before the toxin is injected into the area.

It should take about a week for the toxin to work its way into the muscles so this is when you will see results, although you may see a result before that time. There is little to no risk of scarring with these types of injections and only a small amount of redness, bruising or swelling may occur at the site of injection.

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are topical acids which are used to remove the outer layer of the skin – in a controlled way – to reveal fresher, more youthful-looking looking skin. They can be used on the face, neck and chest to improve fine lines and wrinkles, blemishes and uneven pigmentation.
Chemical skin peels are available in 3 different strengths; superficial, medium and deep. As they are quite strong some numbing cream beforehand is often used to ease any discomfort. For deeper peels, sedation may even be required.

It can take between one and three weeks for the skin to recover after a chemical peel so you might want to refrain from socialising during recovery. During this time, the surface skin will peel away, revealing fresh, glowing and youthful looking skin in replacement. Chemical peels can also be used after facelift surgery to further rejuvenate and refresh the skin.
