How does Profhilo cosmetic treatment work ?

Since the way Profhilo is synthesized it contains the highest concentration of hyaluronic acid of any injectable and is an ultrapure product. When injected into the dermis of the skin the Profhilo stimulates the collagen and elastin to attract water into the skin. In the ageing process of the skin the changes in the elastin fibres and collagen result in a physiological reduction in hydration of the skin with loss of firmness and skin tone. Profhilo therefore helps to reverses this process by ‘boosting’ the hydration. This is why it is often referred to as a ‘skin booster’.

More than a ‘skin booster’ !

Profhilo actually does more than simply boosting the skin hydration and has advantages over other skin boosters. Since the hyaluronic acid is very pure it has very good compatibility which results in the integration with your own normal hyaluronic acid in the skin which has been reduced due to ageing.  By doing this it also stimulates your own collagen and elastin fibres in the skin. The result is that it also helps remodel the skin to provide a firming effect.

How is Profhilo cosmetic treatment administered ?

Profhilo is injected directly into the dermis of the skin. On the face it is injected at multiple points and the hyaluronic acid diffuses into the skin over a certain area. It can also be used on the neck and may be used on the decolletage and hands.

When will the effects be seen ?

It is important to remember that the effects of treatment are not instant like other true dermal filler materials. Usually 2 treatments are required a few weeks apart.

The hydration effect may be seen within a few days but the firming effect on the skin may take about 3 months after the second treatment .

How long do the results last ?

The results usually last approximately 6 months. In order to maintain the results it would be advisable to repeat treatments  every 6 months to a year.
