anti-ageing

Ageing becomes most obvious when the predominant signs become apparent on our faces first. Whilst surgery can offer a long-term solution to aging issues, many people are just ready to pursue the problem of non-surgical facelift can be just what you need.

If you are showing minor signs of aging, you are not ready for surgery, there are a wide range of non-invasive procedures that may be best suited to you first.

Muscle Relaxing Injections
Muscle relaxing injections contain the toxin and are used to freeze the muscles of the face, therefore, preventing wrinkles or lines from forming. The most popular of all muscle relaxing injections are known as 'Botox'. The process of administering these injections is painless, quick and effective - with results lasting up to six months before you get back to the clinic for top-ups. A local anesthetic cream will be applied to the area first before the toxin is injected into the area.

Botox is mainly used on the brow, between the brow and around the eyes. It should take about a week for the toxin to work its way into the muscles so this is when you will see results. There is no scarring with these types of injections and only a small amount of redness, bruising or swelling may occur at the site of injection.

Fillers
Sometimes if Botox TM is not completely effective in eliminating deep lines in the frown area then fillers can be used to further enhance the effect. Dermal fillers are also injections used to combat the signs of ageing, by targeting the deeper lines and wrinkles on the face. Usually, the lips and lines around the mouth are most commonly treated. Fillers can be used to fill the deep depression under the eyelid (tear-¬trough) and also used to fill hollowness in the cheek.

A numbing cream can be used to ease any discomfort (which will only be little) and the injection is administered with a very fine needle into multiple sites according to the area being treated. The effects of dermal fillers last up to six months to a year before a repeat treatment is required.

Chemical Peels
Chemical peels are acids which are used to remove the outer layer of the skin revealing a fresher looking skin. They can be used on the face neck and chest to improve fine lines and wrinkles, blemishes and uneven pigmentation. The peels are quite strong as they contain acid so they will require some numbing cream beforehand to ease any discomfort. For deeper peels, sedation may even be required.

It can take between one and two weeks for the skin to recover after a chemical peel so you shouldn’t get involved in anything too strenuous. During the recovery time, the surface skin will come off, revealing fresh, glowing and youthful looking skin in replacement. Chemical peels have also been used after facelift surgery to further rejuvenate the skin.

Laser resurfacing
Similar to chemical peels, this procedure works by removing the outer layer of skin but it also remodels the collagen underneath the skin, tightening it to reveal youthful looking results. Mr Jag Chana uses the carbon dioxide laser to administer this treatment, which is strong so may require some anaesthetic. For a fast result, a one-off deep laser treatment can be used, but the downside time is usually longer than normal.

Milder treatments may require multiple treatment sessions. The most common area with laser resurfacing is around the eyes and the mouth.
Each of these non-surgical facelift procedures offers a non-invasive, quick and easy way to combat the signs of aging.
